• Pasch was devoid of any idolatrous elements
  • There was no Lent attached
  • Lent came on line sometime late in the 4th century, even in to the 5th century. Lent, however, had its origin in the worship of Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of fertility. The 40-days of Lent (fasting) was observed in ancient Egypt, Koordistan, Bablyon, Pagan Mexico, and amongst the Sabeans
  • Lent is directly tied to the observance and commemoration of the life and death of Tammuz, Semiramis’ son born through immaculate conception. The 40-days were tied to the 40-years that Tammuz lived before being gored to death by a wild boar in a hunting accident
  • Rome sought to join paganism and christianity—in doing so there needed to be an adjustment of the Julian calendar. Thus Dionysius the Little in 525 adjusted the calendar by imperial consent-moving the birth of Yeshua 4-years later beyond the once established time of His birth
  • Easter, however, had crept in to the Christian conscious even as early as the late 2nd and early 3rd centuries. It purported to celebrate the feast of Jesus’ resurrection, held on Sunday after Passover
  • Eastern Churches supported the celebration of Pasch—Jesus as the paschal sacrifice
  • This followed the precedence set by the apostles who celebrated Passover on the 14th of Nisan. These believers ultimately became known as the Quartodecimans after quartodecimus, which is Latin for 14
  • There were multiple attempts to force every believer to observe Easter and to forbid the celebration of Passover
  • This came to a head in 325 at the Council of Nicea when it was decided by Imperial edict that Easter would completely replace Pasch. Emperor Constantine’s edict was summarized as follows:
  • All should keep the feast (i.e., Easter) on one day—celebrated by all with one accord, and in the same manner? It was declared to be particularly unworthy for this…to follow the custom of the Jews, who had soiled their hands with the most fearful of crimes, and whose minds were blinded. In rejecting their custom…we ought not…to have anything in common with the Jews…our worship follows a more legitimate and more convenient course…we desire to separate ourselves from the detestable company of the Jews, for it is tgruly shameful for us to hear them boast that without their direction we could not keep this feast. They do not possess the truth in this Easter question…there ought not be any division. Our Savior left us with only one festal day of our redemption…of his holy passion, and he desired only one Catholic Church…the custom now followed by the Churches of the West…and by some in the East, is the most acceptable…as it is followed in Rome…this is the state of the case, accept joyfully the divine favor, and this truly divine command…keep this most holy day according to the prescribed mode…celebrat this holy Easter day at the same time…
  • The trappings of Easter as a pagan holy day is as follows:
  • Easter Egg hunts—anyone finding Ishtar’s egg while she was being reborn would receive a blessing
  • Easter Bunny—Ishtar’s totem, the Moon hare, layed eggs for good children to eat
  • Ishtar=Eostre=goddess of fertility-multi-breasted goddess-her totem was a rabbit which is associated with sex and birth acts
  • Easter Offerings—offerings brought by the masses to the pagan temples for Easter
  • Sunrise Service—Babylonian priests practiced to hasten the return/reincarnation of Ishtar
  • April 19-Blood Sacrifices-13-days satanic ritual relating to Baal or Molech or Nimrod the Sungod worship with an emphasis on children
  • Western Churches supported Easter—the resurrection of Jesus on Sunday morning
    • Details of Passover Observance is found in Exodus 12 and Leviticus 23

As Believers, our Master requires that we keep His commandments and His commandments are those that were given by Yehovah

  •  passover lamb
      • Yeshua was the true Passover Lamb that takes away the sins of the world–29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.” 32 And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. 33 I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.” 35 The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” (Joh 1:29-36 ESV)
      • Torah’s depiction of the Passover observance was a shadow picture of good things to come–For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. (Heb 10:1-4 ESV)
      • Yeshua wipes away our sins forever
      • Although the resurrection is an essential element of our salvation, the observance of a Sunday resurrection to be practiced by the followers of Yeshua, was never promulgated by Yeshua Himself nor His Apostles
    • Easter is pagan and we know what ultimately happened to both Israel (the Northern Tribes) and Judah (the Souther Tribes)—Reference I & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Isaiah and Jeremiah
    • Lev 18:3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
